21 missing Kerala youths have joined ISIS Camps: Kerala CM confirms

Kerala : Twenty one Kerala youths who had been earlier reported as missing in the Middle East and were feared to have joined the Islamic State (IS) have been confirmed as true by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The Chief Minister claimed in a state assembly meeting that the 21 youths missing from Kerala have joined the camps of the Islamic State (IS). They are either believed to be Syria or in Afghanistan.

The Kerala state government was able to know the details of their whereabouts and situation by checking their phone logs which hinted towards Islamic State recruitment. One of the youths even called his home and told his family not to contact him if they did not want to be troubled.

It is suspected that the 21 missing youths were radicalised through various contents published and released on social media sites.
